Base: 55,000-65,000 + Uncapped Commission
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Lumber Outside Sales Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with customers in the construction, and remodeling to sell a wide range of lumber and building materials. The ideal candidate has a strong background in lumber products, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to manage a territory and grow business through proactive sales strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and builds strong relationships with current customers while pursuing and growing business with new customers. .
- Clearly articulates to our customers the benefits of our products and added value of our services.
- Demonstrates the desire to become an expert in the industry in order to build better customer relationships.
- Attends trade association meetings as deemed necessary by management.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, developers, and other key clients.

Generate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and referrals.

Visit job sites and client offices regularly to provide product recommendations and support.

Provide accurate quotes, process orders, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.

Collaborate with internal teams (inside sales, operations, dispatch) to meet delivery timelines and product specifications.

Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.

Maintain a detailed understanding of company product offerings, especially framing lumber, engineered wood, plywood, and other construction materials.

Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and territory plans to management.
