Summary

The General Services Cleck is responsible for processing mail, both inter-company and US mail for the organization.  Also runs miscellaneous errands and assists the General Services Supervisor as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives, sorts, and distributes all incoming inter-company and US mail.
  • Posts outgoing US mail.
  • Processes Tricor inter-company mail for delivery to locations.
  • Assists with sending packages via FedEx or UPS. Receives and sends packages via FedEx, UPS, Tricor, Airborne, and DHL on a daily basis.  Also responsible for working with carriers if packages are lost or not received at the location.
  • Posts, sorts, and logs certified mail.  May deliver certified mail to Post Office.
  • Relieves front desk receptionist for lunch and breaks.  May also provide back up for front desk to cover for vacation or sick leave.
  • Assists various departments with mass mailings.  Also responsible for distributing the Pacific Update to all locations.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties which require driving such as running errands, picking up lunch orders, delivering documents, transporting files to storage facility, loading and unloading company vehicle, etc.
  • Other miscellaneous duties include moving/assembling/installing office furniture (desks, chairs, filing cabinets, etc).
  • Assists General Services Supervisor with special projects as needed.
  • Abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) year related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer and other various standard office machines and equipment necessary to complete duties.
  • Must have your own reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and insurance.

Occasional = Up to 3 hours/day; Frequent = 3 to 6 hours/day; Constant = 6 to 8+ hours/day

 

  • Constant use of hands and fingers to handle or feel.
  • Frequent reach with hands and arms; talk and listen; stand and walk.
  • Occasional power grasping during operation of basic hand tools.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Frequent bending and twisting at the waist to push, pull, lift and/or move items.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50  pounds.
  • Occassional lifting and carrying of items weighing between 51-100 pounds
  • Up to 25% local travel time required.
  • Regular attendance is required.

  • Office environment with low/moderate noise, which increases when mailroom equipment is in operation (inserter, postage machine, envelope opener).
