POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Packaging Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing a variety of duties in the packaging area such as: cutting and hand stacking brick, repairing pallets and general clean-up; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Unload brick from belt
• Sort brick according to specifications
• Throw brick that does not meet quality standards onto grog belt
• Unclog grog belt or re-stock plastic as needed
• Clean on-or-around grog belt around belts
• Maintains work area according to company specifications for cleanliness and safety
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected
• Regular attendance is required
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Requires on the job training to be able to perform essential duties and responsibilities
• Basic reading, writing and math skills
• Must be able to speak, read and write to be able to communicate with peers and supervisors effectively.
• Ability to follow simple instructions
• Regular attendance is required.
