POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Packaging Line Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing a variety of general labor duties packaging area (line 4) such as: cutting and hand stacking brick, repairing pallets and general clean-up. This position supports the packaging line department in all areas of the plant; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Unload brick from kiln cars and palletize
• Sort brick according to specifications
• Throw brick that does not meet quality standards onto grog belt
• Unclog grog belt or re-stock plastic as needed
• Re-stock packaging line with pallets and/or wood strips
• Clean on or around grog belt around belts and kiln cars
• Maintains work area according to company specifications for cleanliness and safety
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected
• Regular attendance is required
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Requires on-the-job training to be able to perform duties
• Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, customers and superiors.
• Must be able to speak effectively, read, write and have basic math skills
• Ability to follow simple instructions
• Regular attendance is required
