POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Regional Sales Manager, the primary role of this position is to provide solutions and nurture business relationships.  The Territory Sales Manager helps architects, engineers and masons meet their schedules and budgets by providing information on appropriate building envelope solutions after considering the project parameters and needs of the clients.  The manager is a liaison between manufacturing and sales, and assists both in driving new business.   Regular activities include promoting the product lines by supporting a select network of distributors through education and technical assistance, tracking projects, sales and margins, analyzing markets and sub-territories, networking within the industry, and continuing education. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Guidance and instruction as needed from Regional Manager and General Manager.

·         Become knowledgeable and proficient in all facets of this position.  Expend an effort to learn more about brick, building systems and management responsibilities.

·         Maintain established customer relationships and forge new ones where appropriate.

·         Travel the territory as needed to support the distributors and generate business.

·         Deliver educational seminars to architects, engineers and others throughout territory.

·         Follow leads and generate specifications in areas without distributors if applicable.

·         Provide market knowledge to assist the regional sales manager in preparing budgets, forecasts, market targets and trends.

·         Assist in developing pricing strategies and annual sales budgets.

·         Provide monthly updates of significant territory events and trends.

·         Provide bi-weekly updates (via meeting) of distributor and project activities.

·         Provide product training for distributors.

·         Deliver technical presentations to architects.

·         Visit construction sites as needed for customer service or problem resolution.

·         Generate quotations to masons or distributors for specialty items.

·         Host and lead plant tours and distributor training for appropriate audiences.

·         Generate new promotional and marketing material as needed.

·         Be an active participant in industry associations.

·         Stay knowledgeable about similar competitive product lines.

·         Attends safety meeting and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

·         Regular attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

·         Education/Experience

o    Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and

o    5 years' in outside sales and product promotions in any industry.

o Understanding of building systems and engineering concepts related to structural masonry.

·         Communication Ability

  • Ability to read, write complex reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present reports to upper-management.
  • Requires professional communication skills sufficient to deal with job site workers, contractors, engineers and architects and owners.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and negotiating skills is required

·         Math Ability

  • Basic math skills

·         Reasoning Ability

  • Highly motivated
  • Anxious to learn
  • Requires the ability to train less experienced personnel
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

·         Computer Skills

  • Must be able to operate a personal computer and other various standard office machines and equipment necessary to complete duties.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Maps, Sheets and Documents
  • Basic knowledge of photo editing software is desired.
  • Basic working knowledge of SAP.

·         Valid Driver’s License

  • Requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record; must be able to read a map and follow driving directions; and must be able to travel by air (up to 50% of time) and car.
  • May require a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally.

  • Plant environment with loud noise, moving machinery, dust, dirt, fumes or airborne particles (occasional visits).
  • Outdoor weather conditions when visiting construction sites or plants.
  • Extreme temperatures when visiting construction sites or plants.
