PABCO Roofing is looking for its next Trucking Supervisor to lead our team of Class A Truck Drivers. We're looking for a caring, consistent, big picture thinking Supervisor to help ensure we're safe and DOT compliant. 

 

The best person for this position is able to train and set the example by being Class A licensed themselves, including hazmat and tanker endorsements. A TWIC card is also necessary but can be acquired post offer. They share an unwavering commitment to safe practices with their Drivers. They can easily maneuver the Microsoft Suite of programs, are a great communicator - both written and verbal, and welcome technology as a tool, not a nuisance. What does the job entail?  

  • Coordinating the schedule for raw material deliveries, shingle deliveries and raw material pick-ups.
  • Supervising and training Truck drivers and the Warehouse personnel.
  • Communicate and train your team through regular meetings that you lead.
  • Manages inventory control of all asphalt products.
  • Coordinates with the Shipping and Warehouse Managers regarding various tasks in the plant.
  • Participates in the plant inventory process.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and reviews preventative maintenance program for all tractors and trailers.
  • Makes recommendations regarding equipment purchase and maintenance for the team.
  • Is an expert and ambassador for safety on the team and in the plant.
  • Backs-up Shipping Manager and/or Granule Plant Superintendent during scheduled or unscheduled absences.
  • Supports special projects or tasks as assigned

 

 

 

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High School education or equivalent required.
  • Holds a Class A CDL, Hazmat, Doubles and Tankers endorsements, as well as maintains a TWIC card.
  • 5 years or more as a DOT regulated Driver and 3 years or more of Supervisory experience, 
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and/or customers/vendors.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be able to operate a personal computer plus related software and other various standard office machines and equipment necessary to complete duties.
