If you've answered yes to all of these questions, you might be our next Regional Sales Manager for our Western/Central WA and Lower B.C. territory.


This position is responsible for managing their own sales territory as well as a team of Territory Managers assigned to their own territory. In this position, you'll identify, promote, and sell products to all types of customers, help your team achieve the sales objectives that you assist in developing, ensure that sensitive issues are handled in line with company values.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Calls on all types of clients:  distributors, architects, state and federal agencies, engineers, contractors and private construction firms that may influence the choice of product use or supply within the assigned territory.  Provides product training, literature and samples and assists with other territory needs.  Develops long-term relationships with key customers based on trust and care.
  • Responsible for the development, supervision and performance of the territory sales managers that report to this position.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of key customer programs.
  • Typically responsible for key long-term relationships within the core market.
  • Provides and promotes greater market knowledge to assist management in preparing budgets, forecasts, market targets and trends, developing pricing strategies and other information necessary to assist the sales plan.
  • May mentor more junior sales managers.
  • Works within the limits of expense budgets as outlined by management.
  • Participates in the development of and carries out the sales programs and policies for assigned territory.
  • Responsible for ascertaining and providing key strategic sales insight to executive management.
  • Submits a written periodic review of significant territory events to management.  Attends and/or calls in for periodic sales meetings.  Prepares report for projects going to bid or already bid.
  • Reviews and reads plans and specifications for projects.  May design and layout projects to determine materials required.
  • May perform job lead searches in territory and tracks them using High Profile Job report.  Utilizes job leads to promote specific work throughout territory.
  • Generates quotations to contractors and/or distributors.  Tracks quoted projects until contract is written and product is ordered.
  • Visits job sites as required to insure necessary customer service and problem solving; may teach distributor representatives to do the same.
  • Hosts and leads plant tours for appropriate audiences.
  • Demonstrates product features, benefits, quality and technical aspects to customer base.
  • May teach through regular box lunch seminars to architects, engineers and others throughout territory.
  • Assists the Manufacturing Manager by providing product quality information and samples of competitor product for evaluation.
  • Assists the Credit Manager as required, in the timely collection of accounts receivable, providing credit information and risk assessment.
  • Assists customers and contractors by solving product complaints and problems.  Reports unresolved issues to management for disposition.  May handle warranty issues.
  • Promotes customer goodwill by providing market and technical information and acting as a catalyst towards better relationships within the industry.
  • Attends and becomes active in industry associations to provide a continuing effort in the promotion of products.  Attends industry conventions and participates in Home and Trade Shows as directed by management.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, performance, development, promotion, and discipline of production employees.  Assigns objectives and conducts performance appraisals of direct reports.
  • Abides by all safety rules set forth by company and government regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected
  • All other tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned.


Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university or five (5) year minimum related experience and/or training in construction management or architecture; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of three years experience in a leadership position, in building products, or a relatable field.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, co-workers and vendors.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
