Forklift / Diesel Mechanic

Pabco Roofing is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our Operations & Logistics team. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and diagnose engine problems and other issues related to company vehicles.
- Perform tune-ups on company cars, forklifts, and other equipment.
- Service diesel equipment in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program for various company vehicles.
- Repair and replace hydraulic cylinders, motors, and pneumatic brakes.
- Conduct electrical tests and rewiring when necessary.
- Rebuild engines, carburetors, and perform engine exchanges.
- Procure and pick up parts as required.
- Maintain detailed logs of activities and repairs.
- Operate various tools and machinery, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area according to company standards.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations set forth by the company and government agencies.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2 or more years of related experience and/or training.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to interpret documents and write routine reports.
- Proficiency in basic math, algebra, and geometry.
- Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to deal with standardized situations.
- Working knowledge of all vehicle parts, engine reconditioning, diesel hydraulics, fabrication, and electrical wiring.
- Forklift certification and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to use hands for handling and feeling objects.
- Frequent reaching with hands and arms.
- Frequent talking and listening.
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
- Frequent bending at the waist.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment:
- Exposure to wet, humid conditions.
- Work near moving mechanical parts.
- Extreme heat or cold (non-weather).
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
- Moderate to loud noise levels.

Local Wages:      $36.57 per hour, overtime-eligible
