Position Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Facilities Maintenance Assistant. Under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor, this role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic building maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, patching concrete floors, and minor repairs.
- Support plumbing maintenance activities including unstopping toilets, fixing water leaks, and assisting with faucet repairs.
- Help assemble and move furniture, hang pictures, and bulletin boards.
- Participate in minor painting projects and assist with door/handle installations.
- Aid mechanics with various tasks as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- No prior experience required; willingness to learn and grow in a maintenance role.
- Basic computer skills preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Physical Demands:
- Constant standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, or reaching.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
- Work near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places.
- Potential exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Moderate to loud noise levels.
Local Wages: $22.49 per hour, overtime-eligible
