Essential Duties And Responsibilities:  may include some or all of the following:

  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor, Purchaser, and Engineering Manager to schedule shutdown and runtime electrical maintenance.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests with the plant electricians to ensure work is done on a prioritized basis.  Inspect the quality of all electrical repairs and new installations for safety and compliance with NEC code.
  • Work with the engineering and maintenance manager in developing the scope and cost estimates for major capital projects.
  • Maintain a complete library of software back-ups of all operating systems and drive programs in use at the plant. 
  • Maintain a complete inventory of all electrical spares needed to ensure against unplanned shutdowns in excess of 24 hours.  Maintain an inventory database detailing the parts and location in which they are stored.
  • Work with outside vendors to maintain current knowledge of electrical and control systems.  Maintain plant system updates as industry progress occurs.
  • Maintain a working laptop computer capable of remote access to appropriate plant systems.  Coordinate with our IT group to ensure network and communications continuity.
  • Abides by all safety rules set forth by company and government regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • All other special projects or tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; and
  • 5 year's plus experience in a manufacturing environment; or
  • equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert level Electrical troubleshooting abilities.


Communication Ability:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, co-workers and vendors.


Math Ability:

  •  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability:

  •  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills:

  • Must be able to operate a personal computer and equipment necessary to complete duties.
  • Must be proficient or expert level at the following programs: Allen-Bradley, HMI programmable experience, Solidworks and CAD.
