Our Rancho Cordova headquarters office is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator.

 

This position is responsible for supporting the locations in planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety, and environmental policies and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations.

 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible to maintain schedule for location environmental permitting.
  • Responsible to support the location in completing and submitting applicable environmental reports in a timely fashion. (California Aire Resources Board, Hazardous Materials Business Plans, etc).
  • Stays up to date on regulations around hazardous and non-hazardous waste program, including correct handling, packaging, labeling, storage and transportation of waste to approved treatment and/or disposal facilities.
  • Supports locations in developing various safety and environmental health programs.
  • Monitor DMV Employer Pull Notice Program and overall compliance with DOT regulations; including driver training, vehicle maintenance and inspections, shipping papers, placarding, etc.
  • Supports locations in air emission, wastewater, storm water and waste testing.
  • Administers the ProcessMap system, including system training as needed, implementing & maintaining current and new modules as needed.
  • Manages worker compensation at the subsidiary level, working closely with the risk management department as well as safety managers.
  • Actively involved in any modified duty or return to work process.
  • May develop elearning modules for various safety programs including but not limited to: forklift operation, hearing, lockout/tag out, asphalt fumes and silica exposure programs, PPE, Hazcom, hoist inspections, confined spaces, etc.
  • Keeps up to date on all relevant industry related regulations. Reads, reviews and interprets regulations and determines if they are applicable to the plant and recommends the appropriate changes in process/policy to ensure compliance.
  • May serves as a contact for federal, state and local regulatory bodies.
  • Attends training and educational seminars as appropriate to learn regulatory requirements.
  • All other tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in a related field (such as environmental engineering or environmental, health and safety) or equivalent experience;
  • Preferred: three (3) or more years related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
