This position performs all product development activities and research and testing to meet technical requirements.


Quality Control Technician Responsibilities:


  • Conduct wet lab mix tests to develop or modify formulations involving gypsum core, adhesives, coatings and other PABCO accessory products.
  • Determine physio-chemical and mechanical properties of the products developed.
  • Document test results and procedures in standard formats and publish summary.
  • Provide support to scale-up in manufacturing. Optimize process parameters and train operators.
  • Develop test methods and inspect incoming raw materials.
  • Evaluate new and alternate raw materials for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Summarize production data and publish reports routinely.
  • Ensure adherence to good laboratory practices and all safety regulations in the lab and manufacturing areas.
  • Coordinate shipping of test samples to laboratory facilities.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues. Complete investigations and publish reports.


Education / Experience:


  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, required; and
  • Two (2) years related experience and/or training, preferred


Communication Ability:


  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively to other employees, customers and vendors


 Programs / Equipment:


  • Must be able to operate a personal computer plus related software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
