Electrical Controls Engineer

What is the job?

• This is a hands-on position that requires on-field testing and validating electrical systems.
• Assist electrical and maintenance team in troubleshooting upset conditions.
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot and program plant PLCs and VFDs to reduce down time.
• Coordinate maintenance requests with the plant electricians.
• Participate with the Maintenance Manager to schedule shutdown for electrical maintenance.
• Maintain a complete library of software back-ups of all operating systems and drive programs in use at the plant.
• Maintain a complete inventory of all electrical spares needed to ensure against unplanned shutdowns in excess of 24 hours.
• Maintain an inventory database detailing the parts and location which the electrical spares are stored.
• May assist in HMI programming.
• May help the Maintenance Manager in developing the scope and cost estimates for projects.
• Create and update electrical drawings.
• Abide by all safety rules set forth by company and government regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• All other special projects or tasks as assigned

You and your experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering; and
• Up to two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with  Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems.

What is the Work Schedule?

• Typically, the schedule is 6 am – 2:30 pm.
• Must be available for work on weekends and call in for upset conditions during off hours.

What is the pay?

Wage offered depends on experience, $95,000 - $135,000 / year.

At our Newark location, we make Gypsum Wallboard. Your job as an Electrical Controls Engineer is to troubleshoot and repair all PLCs, VFDs, and other electrical equipment.
