PABCO® Gypsum, a division of PABCO® Building Products LLC, has provided quality gypsum board products and service for over 35 years.  PABCO® Gypsum supplies a complete line of gypsum products for commercial and residential construction.

 

The Newark, CA location is currently accepting resumes for a Plant Engineer.  This position is responsible for using engineering skills and experience towards developing plans for the maintenance and enhancement of plant equipment and plant process improvements.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Recommends and implements manufacturing improvement projects, including line improvements and process flow improvements.
  • Develops plans for equipment installation and upgrades.
  • Develops and implements a production maintenance program for the plant.
  • Prepares drawings, plans, specifications for parts and installation.
  • Investigates and troubleshoots all mechanical equipment.
  • Assists with repair and procedures and defines extent of problem.
  • Provides quality assurance of finished work completed by the Maintenance Department.
  • Determines when shut downs are necessary and estimates downtime.
  • Supports the Production Manager in overall management of production of finished product, process improvements and materials usage.
  • Requisition of materials.
  • Communicates with vendors.
  • Able to effectively communicate with all departments of the plant to investigate and solve quality issues.
  • Abides by all safety rules set forth by company and government regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • All other tasks and / or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in a related field (Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Degree preferred); and
  • Minimum three years related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

 

Programs:

  • Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products
