Starting in our Quality department means you're ready to be there for your team and exhibit a steadfast commitment to safe work practices. This position serves our plant through regular Quality Assurance testing, being an advocate on the Production floor for a quality product, utilizing our programs to record accurate data, and most importantly, works to create the best asphalt shingle on the market. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspects finished products for defects.
  • Perform all Asphalt testing per Regulatory and PABCO procedures.
  • Performs granule coverage and color verification, back coating, sealant and laminate bond testing. 
  • Communication of applicable test results to Production supervisor.
  • Advises Production supervisor and maintenance to adjust machinery when process controls are not met.
  • Performs sieve analysis on granule, limestone and talc.
  • Tests glass mat for tensile, tear, base weight and flexibility.
  • Performs analysis on complaints received.
  • Calibrates and perform Preventative Maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Documents tests results in accordance with laboratory processes and procedures.
  • Operates computer, calculator, microscope, scales and any other laboratory equipment required to perform duties.
  • Performs housekeeping for laboratory and equipment.
  • Abides by all safety rules set forth by company and government regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • All other special projects or tasks as assigned.

 

Successful Candidates will have:

  • Six months of Quality or Lab experience required.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Requires intermediate reading, writing, mathematical, and analytical skills.
  • Requires basic computer skills, to include the Microsoft Suite of Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
  • Ability to maintain a forklift license.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Local Wages:                   $26.15 - $29.09 per hour, overtime-eligible - offered rate is dependent on experience
