POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Kiln Supervisor, this position is responsible for controlling, monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining the Kiln to ensure proper operation; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Check tags and cars in holding room.
• Load kiln cars in-and-out of preheater and kiln
• Operates transfer cars
• Adjust limit switches around doors.
• Back around door sheaves and filling gear oil
• Check fans, inspect kiln holes, change belts on preheater fans, replace belts on pallet dryer fans.
• Complies with current 5S Housekeeping standards and requested protocol
• Maintains work area according to company specifications for cleanliness and safety.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representative.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required, must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Requires on-the-job training to be able to perform duties.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Ability to follow simple instructions.
• Must be able to be certified as a forklift operator.
• Requires good verbal and written communication.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required, must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
