POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Assistant Plant Manager, this position creates engineering drawings from sketches provided by the Customer Service Department, or as directed by the Plant Manager or Plant Superintendent. This position may include other duties as needed to facilitate project management, daily plant production, or to gain additional knowledge for growth; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation, and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Receives sketches or design concepts from Customer Service and creates detailed SolidWorks drawings for plant approval.
• Prepares detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for machine parts, molds, and production tooling.
• Interfaces with on-site machine shop to clarify design intent, resolve technical issues, and revise parts or drawings as needed.
• Works closely with Production, Maintenance, and Sales Teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and design accuracy.
• Maintains and updates plant blueprints, drawings, and equipment layouts in both physical and electronic formats.
• Verifies ordered equipment matches drawings sent out.
• Manages and tracks inventory of shaper caps, core bridges, and other special shape equipment.
• Oversees and maintains prototyping equipment for special shape development and testing.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representative.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• High School Education or equivalent w/some college preferred
• Must be able to obtain a Respirator Certification
• SolidWorks (SW) CADD Certification is required
• Requires excellent oral and written communication skills
• Requires understanding of Machine Shop methodology used for the creation of machine parts
• Ability to operate a personal computer, SolidWorks programs, and Microsoft Office is required
• Must be able to receive and give direction equally & demonstrate patience with new employees
• Must have a genuine compassion for co-workers & care how their environment affects them
• Must be a self-starter and work effectively in a team-based environment
• Must possess a valid Utah State Driver’s license and maintain a clean record

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and entering data. Standing, walking, and sitting.
• Occasionally drive a company vehicle to deliver or pick up parts, reports, etc.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. intermittently for handling machine parts or safety supplies

• Office/Plant environment with moderate to loud noise
• Outdoor weather conditions including extreme temperatures
• Be willing and able to work in dusty, dirty, or greasy conditions on an intermittent basis
• Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required in each plant department
