POSITION SUMMARY Under the guidance of the Dealer & Commercial Sales Manager, this position is responsible for representing Basalite - Dealer Division in all areas of hardscapes, packaged dry-mix products, masonry and miscellaneous building materials in the North Bay territory.  The hardscapes effort also includes a focus on hardscape & landscape contractors to inform and educate them on the Basalite product line and proper installation procedures; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under the general guidance of the Dealer & Commercial Sales Manager. Consults regularly with peers throughout Basalite Concrete Products – California sales team to support the dealer network in the North Bay territory and identify, recruit, promote & support Landscape/Hardscape contractors in proper installation practices and feature/benefits of our complete Hardscape product line.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Contact customers and prospects in-person, by telephone and/or email.  Customers primarily include, but not limited to dealers and contractors.
  • Develop & maintain effective relationships with dealer network in the North Bay territory in an effort to increase sales and annual revenue.  Long term goal is to build Basalite brand loyalty.
  • Educate dealers and contractors on features and benefits of the Basalite product line and proper installation techniques. 
  • Educate dealers/contractors and their staff on features/benefits of the Basalite hardscape product line and proper installation techniques.
  • Provide job quotes and provide post-bid follow up.
  • Deliver samples to customers as needed.
  • Utilize social media to post jobsite photos to highlight projects, monitor high value images for marketing usage and track potential leads.
  • Utilize Salesforce to track accounts, contacts, tasks, product knowledge trainings, leads, market trends and insight and combine with marketing efforts to promote Basalite brand.
  • Work with Basalite marketing team to effectively promote & launch new and existing products.
  • Develop and execute annual action plan to ensure successful results, increased sales and market share.
  • Deliver samples to customers and potential customers as needed
  • Participate in industry trade/associations, home shows and “How to Clinics” to promote Basalite and its product lines.
  • Host and entertain customers at company sponsored events.
  • Discern market trends and keep management informed of any significant occurrence or trend that may affect the company.  This also includes new and related products.
  • Attends in-house company and division sales meetings.
  • Abide by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and report all hazardous conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Three year’s sales experience with experience in the Hardscape market.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License, good driving record, and an automobile with proof of auto insurance.
  • Obtain CMHA certification in sand-set, permeable pavers and segmental retaining walls as it pertains to residential and light commercial in one year’s time.
  • Professional presentation skills to effectively engage with contractors.
  • Ability to work with a consultative approach and build consensus for ideas and solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, reading, mathematical, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate an automobile, personal computer, printer, smart phone, tablet, projector copier and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Power point, Excel.
  • Must use good judgement always and perform duties in a manner reflecting Basalite’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
  • Occasionally required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
  • Drive a personal vehicle.
  • 90% time in the field.
  • Overnight travel as needed in territory or industry/company events.

  • Office environment with moderate noise.
  • Jobsite and manufacturing facility with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, odors, loud noise, outdoor weather conditions, extreme hot or cold (non-weather), and near moving mechanical parts.
  • Driving, road conditions, traffic.

 

Annual Salary $80,000.00 -$85,000.00 to start - Depending on Qualifications and Experience
