Concrete Testing and Quality Assurance 2nd Shift Lead $24.00 - $25.00 Per hour

WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Performs and leads the QA concrete testing technicians with routine tasks to meet the minimum expectation in testing quotas.
• Supports the goals and objectives of the department.
• Monitors lab activities for testing accuracy. 
• Provides direction, feedback and coaching to Lab Technicians.
• Reports any changes in raw materials or discrepancies in test data to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
• Maintains accurate records of testing.
• Verifies production audits, including secondary manufacturing, are performed, evaluated, and communicated.
• Assists in the training of QA and plant personnel as it pertains to quality assessment.
• Assists with regular sack plant specialty raw material inventories and requests materials.
• Maintains the organization of work areas according to company standards for cleanliness.
• Performs business operational tasks in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Assists with holding weekly safety huddles with QA personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• High school education or its equivalent.
• Requires leadership experience in concrete laboratory testing and dry cast concrete product manufacturing.
• Possess the knowledge to be a certified concrete lab technician.  Other concrete industry certifications would be considered. 
• Requires flexible schedule.
• Ability to operate a forklift and become forklift certified.
• Must be able to learn and maintain a strong knowledge of the products the Company sells and manufactures.
• Requires good written and verbal communication skills and professional manner in dealing with employees, customers, and vendors.  Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to accurately perform math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.  Must be able to learn and navigate in SAP.  Ability to use and operate basic office equipment, weights and measurement equipment and other equipment specific to plant operations under this position’s direction.
