Hardscape Marketing Representative $25.50 – $27.50 per hour

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, this position supports the plant with A-Frame dealer displays and works together with all Outside Sales Representatives in all dealer in-ground displays; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General Supervision – Reports directly to the Plant Manager and works closely with Sales Team and Dealer Sales Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Oversee and construct A-Frame paver displays at plant location and assist with distribution of A-Frames to Dealer and Contractor locations when necessary to promote a professional image of Basalite to its end user customers.
  • Coordinate and prioritize with Dealer Sales team A-Frame construction and layout for key dealers.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to clean and maintain in-ground displays at dealer locations.  Including - heated pressure washing, minor repairs, relabeling, etc.
  • Helps assist Dealer Sales team to distribute and maintain inventory of point of purchase materials, primarily A-frames and on occasion catalogs, and other marketing materials.
  • Help sales and operations resolve issues related to distribution and or product quality at customer locations or job sites.
  • Request materials to construct A-frames in a timely manner.  Items such as Basalite Pavers, header cards, name plates, nuts & bolts, backer board and any other products needed to complete A-frame builds and merchandising. 
  • Regular communication via phone and email with sales team, inside sales and purchasing is required.
  • Knowledge of battery-operated power tools.
  • Arranges product in the yard and keeps product straight and orderly.
  • Dumps skip buckets of broken or damaged product.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area.
  • Operates the following equipment:
    • Forklift – Move Inventory product, pallets and dumpster as required.
    • Flatbed – Deliver and Pick-Up A-frames and pallets as required.
  • Performs daily safety inspection of forklift and flatbed when in use.
  • Maintains and fuels forklift and flatbed including checking and maintaining oil and water.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • At times, extensive daily travel is required on company vehicle, and personal vehicle occasionally.
  • Other related yard duties may be assigned if A-Frame duties slow down.
  • Predictable and Regular in-person attendance is required and must be able to work overtime as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

                                                              

  • Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and flatbed with 2+ years’ experience, and any other equipment required to perform essential duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, customers, and superiors using computer and smart phone.
  • Ability to listen and follow directions.
  • Positive Interpersonal Skills.
  • Hardscape paver & wall experience a plus.
  • Must have current California driver’s license, good driving record.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Predictable and Regular in-person attendance is required and must be able to work overtime as needed.

  • Standing, walking, sitting, talking/listening, bending, and twisting at the neck and waist, climbing or balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms.

  • Up to 75% travel time required.

  • Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
  • Very loud noise.
  • Working around trucks in congested traffic areas.
  • Plant environment with loud noise, moving machinery, dusty, dirty.

  • Outdoor weather conditions – Working outdoors 90% of the time in any type of conditions as follows:
    • Dusty, dirty, and muddy work areas.
    • Very cold and very hot weather conditions.
    • Early mornings and late evening temperatures.
  • Dealer facilities and contractor job sites.
