POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the General Manager, this position supports and manages the customer service and yard superintendent, the dispatch superintendent and the office manager in all areas of the location; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.




ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


  • Manage customer service and yard superintendent, dispatch superintendent and clerical office manager.
  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and advise on year end performance reviews for all personnel via SuccessFactors (HRIS).
  • Make critical hiring and firing decisions
  • Work with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire and employ using EC-Recruiting module.
  • Responsible for monitoring and approving employee actions in EC (HRIS) in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving time data audit report of recorded time and errors and track attendance via payroll system (NOVAtime).
  • Engage in employee development and discipline as applicable.
  • Approve Accounts payable invoices.
  • Audit previous day’s billing.
  • Assist in managing location pricing structure with the sales teams in SAP, prepare and enter yearly pricing increases.
  • Develop a working knowledge of all products and established procedures including safety.
  • Coordinate monthly safety meetings with Nevada EHS; provide weekly safety huddles to superintendents, supervisors, sales staff.
  • Responsible for assisting in ordering inventory of marketing materials (brochures).
  • Facilitate month-end close, ensuring that all closing requirements are met.
  • Participates in and facilitates physical semi-annual inventory counts, including ordering tags for other Basalite yards. Two weekends required a year.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned by company or its designated representatives.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Regular attendance is required.


QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • High School education or equivalent required, college level courses a plus.
  • Office Management or Administrative experience preferred, experience in the concrete block and/or sack industry a plus.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong aptitude for organizing personal tasks and repetitive duties in a dynamic environment.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, teamwork, decision-making and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires strong accounting knowledge, strong clerical and basic computer knowledge skills.
  • Working knowledge of the operations of a 10-key adding machine, copier, printer and any other office equipment required to perform duties.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to define problems, collect data and establish facts.
  • Valid Driver’s License (Required for – bank deposit runs, errands)
  • Regular attendance is required.

  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, type/use computer; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
  • Frequently drive a personal vehicle to deliver bank deposits to local bank or to run errands.
  • Occasionally required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up-to 50 pounds.
  • Regular attendance is required.
