Raw Material Driver

Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Assistant Plant Manager, this position supports the California Yard & Delivery in all areas of driving and delivery to the designated manufacturing operation; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Drives trucks in a safe manner to specified locations to pick up aggregates and/or bulk powder materials and deliver them to the designated manufacturing operation.
• Unloads aggregates and/or bulk powder materials at the manufacturing operation in area specified by plant superintendent or designated supervisor.
• Uses company daily checklist.
• Uses E log on tablet and worksheets.
• Checks vehicles for safety problems and ensures that fuel and oil levels are sufficient.
• Maintains work area and equipment according to company specifications for cleanliness and safety.
• Works with the Raw Material scheduler.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Predictable, and Regular attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Three-years’ experience driving a truck with double trailers, both full and empty.
• Possession of a valid California Class A driver’s license, with Double Endorsements, Tanker Endorsements, and a good driving record.
• Predictable, and Regular attendance is required.

• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.  Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.     

• Plant environment with loud noise, moving machinery, dusty, dirty.

SALARY:  HOURLY - $22.00 - $26.00
