Description: 

H.C. Muddox joined Pacific Coast Building Products in 1980 and now supplies a large distributor network with clay products that include standard face brick, thin brick, flue liners, pavers, pool coping, and structural brick. H.C. Muddox also offers custom shapes, sizes and colors in a range of products.

SALARY RANGE: $18.00 - $22.00 / HR. DOE

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Regional Sales Manager, this position supports the Samples department by preparing samples for distribution, including color selection, wrapping, and boxing for shipment; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Assemble standard mini-board sample panels and maintain mini-board sample inventory of all brick colors. 
  • Assemble key board samples of standard brick veneer colors and paver key boards.  Maintain stock of each item for quick turnaround.
  • Selection of product samples collected from inventory, take to the samples department, and individually wrap each piece before inserting into a box/boxes for shipment.
  • Make name brick as orders are received, transport and load name brick on kiln cars, and retrieve green brick solids as blanks for name brick production.  
  • Communicate with clients when samples are sent and expected to arrive.  Provide tracking number when samples are sent through mail, UPS or FedEx. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area.
  • Be aware of forklifts operating in and around the work areas as they transport pallets of material to and from the building.
  • Materials will be transported by both, hand and cart, when necessary. 
  • Use and read various measuring devices such as scales, micrometers, etc.
  • Assists other lab personnel when required.
  • Be competent in the use of computer spreadsheets.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • On-the-job training is required to be able to perform essential duties assigned.
  • Ability to read a tape measure or other measuring devices established to aid in the development of a desired, consistent dimension.
  • Basic math skills are required. 
  • Must be able to read, speak and write to be able to understand basic instructions and communicate with supervisors and peers effectively.
  • Must be able to operate a PC and various office equipment/technology and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand and follow simple instructions.
  • Predictable and Regular attendance is required

  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
  • Occasionally required to twist and/or bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • Plant environment with occasional loud noise, moving machinery, dusty, dirty.
  • Open building, sometimes subject to seasonal temperature extremes.

  • Wear mandatory and /or other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, and hard-hat.
