Staff Accountant

Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Accountant, this position performs A/P processing, administrative functions, assist with month-end close process and other accounting related responsibilities, and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• A/P processing, including communicating with vendors to resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in A/R processing as needed, including communicating with customers to resolve discrepancies.
• Administrative responsibilities.
• Assist in month end close process.
• Assist in monthly statistical/analytical reports.
• Assist and support with other accounting responsibilities as needed.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Four-year degree from accredited college or university:  Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
• One to two years professional accounting experience.
• Must have working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Experience with automated accounting system, SAP experience preferred but not required.
• Requires strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with inter-company personnel and management group in a professional manner.
• Must be able to work with detail, good organizational skills and be able to meet deadlines in timely manner.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook; operate 10-key by touch, and various other standard office machines and equipment.
• The ability to multi-task.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
• Frequently drive a personal vehicle to deliver bank deposits to local bank.
• Occasionally required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
• Up to 10% travel time maybe required.

Salary Range $55,000 - $58,000 / Annually DOE
