POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for supervising the employees and overseeing the Deco Rock Plant production and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SHIFT: 2:00 pm - 12:30 am $20 - $22 (plus shift differential)

 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


• Oversees all Deco Rock Plant functions.

• Maintains a safe and clean environment.

• Monitors plant expenses, efficiencies, product losses, and ensures that these are kept within budget.

• Monitors quality of all materials and finished goods. • Checks equipment for proper function and operation

• Collaborates with management and maintenance team to coordinate plant maintenance.

• Assigns work to production employees. • Responsible for minimizing down time in various areas of production.

• Responsible for training and/or cross training employees within the plant. • Responsible for verification of daily production.

• Responsible for posting daily production and populating analytical reports (OEE, etc.)

• Participates in hiring and disciplinary actions of employees as needed.

• Responsible for monitoring and approving employee actions in EC (HRIS) in a timely manner.

• Responsible for running time data audit report of recorded time and errors and track attendance Responsible for coordinating plant employee schedules with the HR/Payroll Coordinator.

• Assist in plant inventories (month end, fiscal year).

• Attends and/or leads safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

• All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.

• Regular attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 


• High School diploma or equivalent required, college level courses a plus.

• Two years’ experience in the concrete block, sack industry or manufacturing industry a plus.

• On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform all duties.

• SAP experience preferred, but not required. • Working knowledge production and associated products is required.

• Ability to operate front-loader, forklift, and any other equipment required to perform duties.

• Must have strong communication, teamwork, decision-making and interpersonal skills.


• Demonstrate commitment to consistently delivering the highest quality customer service.

• The ability to manage and motivate others effectively.

• Trouble shooting skills including machine electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and overall knowledge of the machinery involved in the production process.

• Ability to multi-task and be a working supervisor.

• Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.

• Regular attendance is required.

• Must have a valid Driver’s License

• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.

• Occasionally required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up-to 100 pounds.

• Plant environment with moderate to loud noise, exposure to dust, work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions.
