POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, this position supports the Work in Progress (WIP) in all areas of production and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Daily follow up with Plant Manager at the beginning of each day/week/month as to what needs to be done.
  • Ensure all split face, ground face, cut block and tumbled/blended product is of good quality.
  • Keep Splitter, Grinder, BB/Table saw, and Tumbler are properly adjusted.
  • WIP Supervisor must regularly inspect equipment in anticipation of downtime.
  • Grease all machines and related process equipment as needed.
  • Perform general up-keep of all respective process machines.
  • Familiarize and become comfortable with all respective process machines.
  • Maintain accurate records of each day’s production and communicate with the Plant Manager Production Clerk.
  • Keep all WIP processes running at maximum efficiency.
  • Inspect work area keep clean and neat.
  • Assist Yard Lead when help is needed (i.e., pallet sorting, product sorting).
  • Work with Plant Superintendent when he needs extra help.
  • Assist in the plant as needed.
  • Notify Plant Superintendent, Maintenance Supervisor, and/or Plant Manager of any problems at Production Meetings & Safety Meetings.
  • Attends safety meetings and abide by all safety rules set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies, ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected. 
  • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties. 
  • Requires basic reading, writing and mathematical skills. 
  • Basic computer skills, use of Outlook and Microsoft tools.
  • Ability to operate forklift, and any other equipment required to perform duties. 
  • Previous experience as a machine operator. 
  • The ability to manage and motivate a team. 
  • Able to communicate in a professional manner with all employees and customers.
  • Trouble shooting skills including machine electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and overall knowledge of the machinery involved.
  • Ability to multi-task and be a working supervisor, if necessary. 
  • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

  • Standing, walking, sitting, talking, and listening, climbing, or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, reaching with hands and arms.   
  • Lifting up-to 50 lbs. frequently, and up-to 100 lbs. with assistance.

  • Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, heat or cold (non-weather) conditions.
  • Very loud noise.
  • Plant environment moving machinery, dusty, dirty, and muddy.
  • Extreme temperatures 
  • Wear mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 

 

Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00 / Hour, DOE
