Forklift Operator

$18 - $21/hours Depending on Qualifications and Experience

WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE: 

Under the supervision of the Administrative Manager and Yard Supervisor, this position is responsible for loading and unloading of trucks, staging pre-loads/will calls, yard organization and clean-up, receiving of products, which includes returns and stock transports, and is responsible for comprehensive knowledge of forklift equipment use; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Work directly with shipping and receiving to ensure that all products are loaded/unloaded as ordered and physical inventory is accurate and that all necessary paperwork is in order.

• Communicate effectively with Yard Supervisor and yard personnel with regards to loading and unloading of trucks, will calls, cash sales, yard organization and yard cleanliness.

• Working knowledge of all forklifts and their proper operation.

• Maintain daily log of damaged product. Damaged product must clearly be identified and reported to the Supervisor each day.

• Communicate effectively with Supervisor, yard and other location personnel about the daily truck loading schedule, quality control and maintenance issues.

• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

• Maintains assigned work are according to company standards for cleanliness.

• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

• Regular attendance is required.
