POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Regional Manufacturing Manager, this position supports the plant location in all areas of Environmental, Health & Safety; and Quality Control. This position is also responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Manage environmental, health and safety objectives to ensure all Federal and State requirements are met.
- Direct and complete onboarding safety training prior to beginning work for new FTE employees and temp employees.
- Ensure company–required programs are maintained.
- Complete monthly plant safety inspections and document action items resulting from those inspections.
- Prepare/present topics and trainings for weekly safety meetings.
- Audit plant activities and employee behaviors to ensure hazardous conditions are reported correctly and trainings are conducted as required.
- Coordinate safety activities of department mangers to ensure implementation of safety practices throughout region.
- Ensure that OSHA 300 form is maintained and posting requirements are met.
- Maintain safety and first aid supply inventories by following purchasing policy.
- Ensure all accidents and injuries are properly investigated and written reports are completed timely and accurately describing the circumstances surrounding the accident/injury.
- Ensures record keeping and documentation requirements are met.
- Analyze metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of resources to areas with higher safety risks.
- Maintain liaison with outside organizations such as, fire departments, first aid services, OSHA and auditing services to assure information exchange and mutual assistance is met.
- Collaborate with the Corporate EHS team to identity, create and implement corporate programs across all production lines in alignment with company direction.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
- Attends and leads safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
- Predictable and Regular attendance is required.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High School education or equivalent, 4-year degree is preferred
- 5 years’ experience environmental health and safety.
- Knowledge of Safety Programs.
Knowledge of environmental laws.
- Lean Manufacturing, 5S, corrective action / preventative action experience preferred
- Ability to use and operate various types of testing equipment and machines, forklifts, mixers and computer.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other industry related software.
- Ability to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to obtain a certificate to operate forklifts.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in public speaking and presentation skills.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

SALARY EXPECTATIONS
$70-80k
