BLOCK PLANT LABORER

 

 $18.00 - $19.00 Hourly Depending on Qualifications and Experience

WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE:

 

Under the supervision of the Plant Superintendent, this position hand stacks blocks, hand batches cement or color and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

  • Stacks block by hand.
  • Assist machine operator as needed.
  • Team player.
  • Able to communicate any issues to your supervisor.
  • Checks blocks for defects or contamination.
  • Able to identify poor quality and bad splits.
  • Performs hand batching of cement color, checking for quality.
  • Keep the plant clean.
  • Operates forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
  • Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • Able to read the tape measure.
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
  • Ability to operate forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

  • Standing, walking, talking/listening, climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Occasionally Lifting up-to 100 pounds.
