POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, this position supervises electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling and installing machinery.
  • Coach, train, instruct, and offer guidance to all subordinates.
  • Hold team accountable to meet production schedule and production objectives
  • Perform annual reviews for direct reports, engage in employee development and discipline as applicable.
  • Lead recruiting, hiring and training of staff for area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for monitoring and approving employee actions in EC (HRIS) in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for auditing time data audit report of recorded time and errors and track attendance daily.
  • Oversees the requisition and supply of spare parts through Parts/Inventory clerk.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints and schematics to workers and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.  Recommends measures to improve productions, equipment and performance.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Supervises maintenance and repair of trucks, forklifts, trailers and loaders.
  • Determines when machinery should be shut down and repaired.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
  • Regular attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing maintenance setting.
  • Training and experience are interchangeable on a year for year basis.
  • Requires mechanical ability, good reading, writing, mathematical and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete production machines.
  • Ability to operate telephone, welding machine, electrical meters, grinders, oxygen acetylene, various hand tools and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Regular attendance is required.

  • Standing, walking, talking/listening, bending and twisting at the neck and waist, simple grasping with both hands, and reaching with hands and arms below shoulder level.
  • Lifting up-to 100 pounds.

SALARY RANGE: $90k-$120k DOE
