Salary Range: $ 25.00 - $32.00/hr., DOE

WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE: Under the supervision of the Superintendent, this position supports the Block Plant in all areas of production and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Verifies that all production machines are running properly and safely.
  • Ability to learn machine functions to trouble shut problems on the block machine, cuber, splitter, LSC 40, crawler and the wrapper.
  • Fill out form and follow up recommendations on the machine operator checklist.
  • Check and complete the shift production report.
  • Communicate any problems or issues to your supervisor.
  • Teamwork player.
  • Able to complete the mold change and adjust the block height in a proper amount of time, (60 min).
  • Able to complete the height mold change and adjust the block height in a proper amount of time, (100 min).
  • Check block quality every ½ hr. on green block.
  • Able to learn the screen settings on the block machine.
  • Able to learn the screen settings on the Columbia batch system.
  • Able to learn the screen settings on the color system.
  • Able to learn the screen settings on the LSC-40.
  • Able to learn the screen settings on the splitter and adjust.
  • Able to report and fill out maintenance work order request.
  • Able to identify block configuration and color coming out the kilns to inform cuber operator.
  • Check cure pak system at the beginning and at the end of your shift hours.
  • Checks loader and unloader and the block transporter (crawler).
  • Operates batching system for quality products.
  • Ability to learn the material moister to make decisions.
  • Constantly checking the cubing line and splitting in line for good quality.
  • Constantly checking the cuber elevators plate for proper height.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Requires a high school education or the equivalent.
  • Able to read the tape measure.
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
  • Manufacturing production machinery experience preferred.
  • Requires basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to operate block machine, cuber, loader, unloader, crawler, and any other equipment required to perform duties.
