WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE: Under the supervision of the Assistant Plant Manager, this position is responsible for driving trucks to pick-up and deliver products and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Fills out logbooks if needed if E-Log stops functioning, worksheets and reports.
• Secures loads with ropes, straps, brick boards and tarps.
• Determines types of equipment to be used for jobs.
• Transports products throughout Northern California to customers, stores, yards and jobsites.
• Loads and unloads trucks as needed with piggyback forklift.
• Maintains and fuels trucks and performs inspections on equipment.
• Maintains work area according to company standards for cleanliness.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Predictable and Regular in-person attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.    

• Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
• Requires on-the-job training to perform the duties of the job.
• Ability to operate various types of forklifts and drive a variety of trucks including doubles, T & T semis.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to obtain forklift certification within two weeks with Basalite.
• Must have a valid California Class A driver’s license and a good driving record and be certified to operate a forklift.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Standing, walking, sitting, talking/listening, climbing, or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reach with hands and arms.
• Lifting up-to 100 pounds.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required.
• Regular in-person attendance is required.
