POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Subsidiary Credit Manager, this position supports all areas of credit and collections at the subsidiary level; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Posts all payments received from customers promptly and accurately.
  • Balances cash drawer and prepares daily bank deposit.  This includes using remote deposit machine and/or physically making deposits at the bank.
  • Reviews all customer payment discrepancies and works with branch personnel to promptly resolve or re-bill.
  • Makes collection calls to customer AP departments and works with them in a courteous and professional manner to resolve open balances.
  • Processes Lien Releases accurately and promptly as requested by customers.
  • Acts as backup to answer, handle or route incoming phone calls to the credit office.
  • Assists Subsidiary Credit Manager in preparing information and documents for collection efforts.
  • Works with regional branches to provide credit releases daily.
  • Assists Subsidiary Credit Manager in review of new customer account submissions/updates and approves requests as needed.
  • Maintains electronic customer credit and correspondence files up to date on a weekly basis.
  • Communicates effectively with internal parties such as regional branches or sales personnel as part of daily job functions.
  • Works on special projects and prepares reports as directed by the Subsidiary Credit Manager.
  • Receptive to on-the-job training and coaching from the Subsidiary Credit Manager.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of administering duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintains work area clean and organized.
  • Files, scans, and copies documents as needed.
  • Demonstrates commitment to consistently deliver the highest quality customer service; and
  • promotes teamwork.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Predictable and regular attendance is required; must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • 1 year of experience in collections and accounts receivable functions, experience in a manufacturing setting a plus.
  • Ability to use and operate a PC, adding machine, copier/scanner and any other office equipment required to perform duties.
  • Knowledge of a variety of software including, but not limited to, Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • SAP experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and inter-company personnel.
  • Strong aptitude for organizing personal tasks and repetitive duties in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid CA Driver’s License.
  • Predictable and regular attendance is required; must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
  • Occasionally drive a personal vehicle to deliver bank deposits to local bank.
  • Occasionally required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up-to 15 pounds.
  • Up to 5% travel time required. 
  • Predictable and regular attendance is required; must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Salary Range $23.00 - $28.00 /HR. DOE
