POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the SDM Superintendent, this position is responsible for effectively operating the dry mix equipment. This position requires a high level of problem-solving skills and mechanical troubleshooting; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Demonstrate the ability to effectively start-up, control and adjust all key mechanical components in the plant.
- Able to use computers to properly control and manage settings of a high variety of product mix designs and configurations.
- Learn the mechanical and screen settings on the wrapper, troubleshoot issues, and make proper adjustments.
- Ability to understand basic to intermediate settings and controls on the Bagger Robot and assist in other basic mechanical repairs.
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot intermediate automation controls including sensors, switches and valves.
- Verifies that production machines are running properly and safely.
- Ability to understand, monitor, and effectively run the Ventilex Dryer with an emphasis in knowing proper running conditions.
- Demonstrates a skill and talent in preventative maintenance.
- Ability to learn effective dust control measures to successfully monitor, control, and adjust air quality equipment.
- Ability to understand pneumatics and material flow.
- Fill out forms and follow up on recommendations on the machine operator check list.
- Ability to operate and train on the bagger, small packaging, bucket filler, bulk bag machine and fill in for all these positions.
- Able to operate a forklift and Gradall.
- Able to report and fill out maintenance work order request with supervisor.
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
- Inspects warehouse to check product levels and recommends changes in production schedules.
- Abides by all safety rules set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies; and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
- Predictable and Regular in-person attendance is required.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Requires a high school education or the equivalent.
- On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
- Must be able to be company certified on forklift. Double forklift experience is not required but will be beneficial to learn.
- Machine Operation experience preferred.
- Mechanical or Maintenance background preferred. Additional skills in welding and higher-level mechanical abilities are not essential but also preferred and recognized.
- Experience in pneumatics, automation, and intermediate maintenance shop skills.
- Requires basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, preferred.
- Predictable and Regular in-person attendance is required.

- Standing, walking, talking/listening, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with arms.
- Lifting to 100 pounds.
- Climbing up and down from forklifts.

SALARY RANGE: $28.00-$33.00/HR. DOE
