Under the supervision of the Specialty Dry Mix Superintendent and the Sack Plant Supervisor, the Bagger (Auto Sack Operator) supports the California Production Department in all areas of dry mix equipment or forklift operations like transporting and unloading various materials.  This position is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Operates various pieces of equipment in the Sack Plant including the ability to bag.
  • Verifies that machinery is running properly.
  • Weighs bags of material for accuracy.
  • Opens bags and verifies material is acceptable.
  • Able to operate double forklift and single forklift.
  • Able to “float” between SDM and Sack plant in bagger, forklift, labor, and other duties and responsibilities.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Regular attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

                                                              

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
  • Requires basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to operate forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties and be forklift certified.
  • Ability to operate computer, burner, cuber and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Regular attendance is required.

 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
 

  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
  • Occasionally required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
