POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Regional Manufacturing Manager, this position supports the sales, yard, production planning and quality control teams in all areas of the entire product life cycle. Is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Working with sales and production to validate that product proposed can be effectively produced by the plant
  • Assisting in the set up of new products with proper nomenclature, routings, versions and bills of material
  • Coordinating with quality control to establish inspection criteria for products
  • Executing quality inspections and color confirmations for custom / unique product production runs
  • Working with yard and inventory control to designate and separate project specific stock
  • Working with production planning to verify quantities produced meet demand requirements
  • Act as lead with sales and inventory control to eliminate slow moving / stagnant inventory
  • Demonstrate and promote the Basalite Core Values.
  • Work with sales team to address production capabilities to meet custom / unique block requirements
  • Confirm mold availability
  • Define work sequence/production versions required to produce unit
  • Define color (mix code) and product nomenclature
  • Once order is deemed high probability, collaborate with quality control to define product quality requirements and inspection points for product
  • For unique / custom products support production and quality control by executing quality inspections and validating color match to standard/target
  • Work with production planning, plant and yard to properly tag and isolate product specific to a single order / customer
  • Work with production planning and yard to validate inventories meet demand for custom orders
  • Support planning and execution of add orders and additional production to cover short falls to achieve product match / consistency
  • Work with sales and inventory control to disposition (sell, convert to alternative product, dispose) returned / overrun custom products
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Regular attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Advanced knowledge of CMU designs, colors, and ASTM specifications
  • Advanced knowledge of production process, product Molds and quality inspection standards
  • General knowledge of SAP production and MRP modules
  • General knowledge of SAP master data set up and requirements
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to lead effective meetings
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite, specifically Excel
  • Understanding of all production reporting and Key performance indicators

Education/Experience:

  • Requires two years of college or the equivalent on the job experience
  • Requires knowledge of production equipment: block machines and automation, production processes and maintenance programs
  • Requires advanced knowledge of CMU products and technical specifications
  • Mathematical and problem- solving skills

Language Ability:

  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

Reasoning Ability:

  • Commitment to team concepts and high -quality production
  • Ability to deal with subordinates, inter-company personnel, vendors, customers and outside agencies in professional manner.
  • Able to act professionally and remain calm in high stress situations.
  • Valid Driver’s License (Required for – Class A, B, C with Haz Mat Endorsement. Any employee who drives on your organization’s behalf – Office Staff, Sales Reps, etc.)
  • Regular attendance is required.

  • Frequently drive a personal vehicle to deliver bank deposits to local bank.
  • Occasionally required to bend at the waist. Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Up to 25% travel time required.
