SALARY RANGE $36.00-$40.00 / HR. DOE 

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, this position supports the Sack Plant and Secondary Operations in all areas of production.  This position is responsible for supervising the production operations, ensuring that plant production meets Company standards of safety, quality and efficiency and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General

    • Supervises production crews and performs a variety of personnel functions including daily timecard approvals, scheduling time off requests, recruiting/hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, and disciplining.
    • This position requires daily inventory evaluation and production scheduling.
    • Meets regularly with the Safety Coordinator to ensure that safety standards and expectations are being met.
    • Meets daily with inventory/production management to address any issues affecting production.
    • Reviews previous days’ production and production loss reports for accuracy and evaluate that operational standards are being achieved.
    • Monitors the operational status of processes and quality of product being produced.
    • Regularly performs and documents inspections of personnel, processes and equipment. 
    • Research and orders parts and materials/supplies for plant operations.
    • Assists the maintenance department with maintenance requirements, project planning and scheduling.
    • Monitors incoming raw materials for quality.
    • Monitors and records equipment downtime activities and prioritizes repairs with maintenance department.
    • Assists with raw material and finish goods inventory management.
    • Regularly facilitates meetings; pre-shift, safety, and daily production review meetings. 
    • Regularly meets with the plant manager.
    • Completes special projects assigned by management.
    • Evaluate and maintains equipment parts inventories and orders parts and components as required.
    • Assist with trouble-shooting mechanical, electrical & hydraulic/pneumatic problems.
    • Uses company and/or personal vehicle to do store runs to purchase equipment parts.
    • Equipment operation is required including manufacturing process equipment, forklifts and other facility support equipment (man-lifts, scissor lifts, front-end loaders, telehandlers, etc.)
    • Maintains work area clean and clutter free per company standards.
    • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
    • ttends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
    • Predictable and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

    • Requires a high school education or equivalent.
    • Ability to read drawings; electrical & hydraulic/pneumatic schematics is beneficial.
    • Requires a minimum of three years as a Production Supervisor overseeing manufacturing environments and supervising personnel.
    • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
    • Five years’ experience working and managing manufacturing processes preferred.
    • Equipment operational experience is beneficial including forklifts and man-lifts. 
    • Requires basic reading and writing skills.
    • Ability to communicate and interact both verbally and written. Spanish language is a plus.
    • Basic mathematics and counting is required.
    • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional manner in dealing with employees and the public.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is required.
    • Operation of mobile electronic equipment may be required.
    • Ability to operate personal computer, printer, calculator, copier, facsimile machine and any other office equipment required to perform duties.
    • Valid Driver’s License required to operate Basalite and/or personal vehicle on public roadways.
    • Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

    • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
    • Occasionally climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling may be required.
    • Occasionally required to bend at the waist.
    • Lifting up-to 75 pounds.

    • Plant environment with moderate to loud noise, moving and vibrating machinery, dusty, dirty, fumes and/or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, hot and cold (non-weather) conditions.
    • Working areas may include elevated working platforms and confined spaces. 
    • Outdoor weather conditions; extreme temperatures.
    • Wear mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
