WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE: 

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position supports plant operations in all areas of production. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving manufacturing and facility equipment.  This position is also responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success.

 

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Must have the ability to properly measure utilizing a tape measure and calipers.
  • Must have the ability to properly operate oxygen/acetylene torch, plasma cutter.
  • Must have the ability to arc weld in various positions and types of joints. 
  • Reads and evaluates work order/plan of action and plans projects accordingly.
  • Performs and documents daily pre-operational inspections on equipment and work areas.
  • Performs safety inspections on equipment and makes needed adjustments and or repairs.
  • Preforms scheduled maintenance on manufacturing/process equipment.
  • Fills out required paperwork including inspections and work orders, etc.
  • Ability to replace equipment parts with proper instructions.
  • Determines whether to repair or replace worn or dysfunctional parts as needed.
  • Advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems troubleshooting practices required.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot complex pneumatic and hydraulic schematics. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to rebuild cylinders and hydraulic valves.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to set-up and repair all types of molds properly.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use a multi-functional electrical test meter.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and troubleshoot complex electrical schematics.
  • Performs electrical system troubleshooting and repairs or replaces components as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to wire and phase direction single and three phase motors & contactors
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of computer operated equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and repair or replace PLCs, VFDs & soft starters.
  • Troubleshoots and makes modifications to various equipment as needed.
  • Determines if a machine must be shut down for repairs.
  • Operates shop equipment; drill press, welders, grinder, cutting equipment, pressure washer, overhead hoists, hand tools, and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Component/Parts requisition and purchasing may be required.
  • Intermediate rigging and lifting practices are required as needed.
  • Advanced welding practices with various metals may be required.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be proficient at operating forklifts available in the production environments.                  
  • Maintains work area clean and clutter free per company standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required.
