POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, this position supports the Basalite Organization in all areas of manufacturing. Is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.




ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


  • Requires hands-on direct interaction with equipment while evaluating, maintaining and repairing system components.  
  • Manage and maintain electrical systems.
  • Maintain and improve the automation systems incorporated in the manufacturing processes. 
  • Maintain and improve computer-controlled operated systems.
  • Assist the maintenance personnel with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Performs and documents daily preoperational inspections on equipment and work areas
  • Forklift operation is required
  • Regularly meets with supervisor
  • After hour service calls and may be required, including weekend shifts.
  • Maintains work area clean and clutter free per company standards
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Regular attendance is required.


QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Requires a high school education or the equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret facility and equipment electrical schematics.
  • Must be competent in the understanding, interpretation, modification and development of Program Logic Controller (PLC) systems.
  • Must have working knowledge of local, state and federal laws and safety regulations.  
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties
  • Forklift operational experience is beneficial.
  • Requires good reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact both verbally and written.
  • Basic mathematics and counting is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional manner in dealing with employees and the public.
  • Ability to operate personal computer, printer, calculator, copier, facsimile machine and any other office equipment required to perform duties.
  • Must be proficient or ability to work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is beneficial.
  • Ability to act professionally and remain calm in high stress situations. 
  • Operation of mobile electronic equipment may be required. 
  • Valid Driver’s License required to operate Basalite vehicles on public roadways.
  • Regular attendance is required.

  • Wear mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
