WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE: 

Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, this position assists in leading, directing and overseeing various production operations and corresponding responsibilities. This position is also responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Leads efforts in working with Plant Supervisors to ensure key performance measures are met, including Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Production Operations. 
  • Leads plant operations in the absence of the Plant Manager
  • Coordinates logistics such as manpower, equipment, and other resources to best assist operations.
  • Oversees the Supervision of various production related operations.  
  • Assists in Capital Project planning and other long-term strategic planning initiatives.
  • Coordinates daily priorities and needs within the operations.
  • Works with HR in recruiting, hiring, firing, and training of staff for area of responsibility.
  • Leads strategic short, medium, and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Coaches, mentors, trains, instructs, and counsels all subordinates, including supervisor, leads, operators, and laborers in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Strategizes production schedules to best utilizes resources and improve efficiencies and utilizations.
  • Coordinates efforts outside vendors and ensures fulfillment of their commitments.
  • Interprets company policies to assists operations that EHS measures are in place and enforced.
  • Assists operations in diagnosing challenges in personnel, machinery and equipment.
  • Recommends measures to improve production processes, procedures, and overall performance.
  • Perform annual reviews for direct reports, engage in employee development and discipline as applicable.
  • Responsible for auditing time data audit report of recorded time and errors daily.
  • Monitors time and attendance for all direct reports
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals and improve employee morale.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Partners with supervisors, maintenance and operational personnel to determine when machinery should be shut down and repaired.
  • Participates in maintenance activities to aid supervisors and maintenance in solving problems.
  • Facilitate meetings and training events as required. 
  • Maintains work area per company standards for cleanliness
  • Participates in Adopt-A-Family activities – may include fundraising, delivering items, etc.
  • May be asked to work occasional Saturdays, specifically but not limited to semi-annual physical inventory.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Regularly meets with the plant manager.
