POSITION SUMMARY:  Under the guidance of the Dealer & Commercial Sales Manager, this position is responsible for the promotion of Epic Plastics’ complete product line in the Pacific North West Region (OR, WA or ID). Supporting current customers as well as identifying new markets and adding new customers will be the focus; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Works under the general guidance of the Sales Manager. Consults regularly with peers throughout Basalite Building Products to recognize synergies, realize opportunities, and improve general sales and logistics environment.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: This position also works in conjunction with other Regional Sales Representatives, Customer Service Manager, AP / AR Representative, and other Epic Plastics, Basalite Building Products, and PCCI counterparts.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Visit assigned stores to further industry and product specific education, confirm that company standards are being maintained, verify that all products are merchandized properly, and check that all aspects of service are satisfactory to the customer base.
  • Identify opportunities and penetrate new customer channels, such as the lumber and building materials industry, to distribute Epic Plastics’ complete product line.
  • Grow markets by adding potential customers as regularly buying accounts.
  • Develop edging jobs by presenting features and benefits of Epic Plastics’ product line and service to architects, municipalities, designers, builders, retail, and distribution accounts.
  • Coordinates and works alongside existing regional manufacturer’s representative group.
  • Educate customer base on product usage via product knowledge training and “How to Clinics”.
  • Work with Customer Service Manager and Marketing Department to ensure marketing materials are available and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Provide product samples and construct point of purchase displays at customer locations.
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, trade, and home shows
  • Work with Sales Manager to analyze sales and market trends by product line.
  • Develop and execute territory action plans to ensure successful results.
  • Resolve issues related to distribution and product quality and / or installation practices.
  • Work with customers and marketing staff to effectively launch new products.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and vendors to determine timeline for product availability.
  • Provide technical training to dealer’s sales team, counter, and yard personnel.
  • Provide technical training to architects, municipalities, contractors, and their employees.
  • Answer product questions from and resolve issues with homeowners, dealers, architects/designers, contractors, and the public regarding products and installation.
  • Make customer care a priority and visit job sites regularly.
  • Host and entertain customers at events. (Lunch, Sporting Events, etc.…)
  • Helps research and design new product ideas with PCCI, Basalite, and Epic Plastics managers.
  • Assist AP / AR department with customer credit memo requests, collections, and activating customers and vendors where applicable.
  • Abide by all safety rules established by the company and governmental regulatory agencies

and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

  • Maintains work areas and vehicle per company specifications for cleanliness and safety.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned by the company or its designated representatives.

 

Administrative

  • Work with Inside Sales Staff and customer service to ensure necessary paperwork gets processed for dispatch, yard, or any other support staff and customers.
  • Fill out job complaint forms in their entirety.
  • Complete weekly / monthly call reports in a timely manner.
  • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in engineering, architecture, business, marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Three year’s sales experience with experience in the Landscape and / or edging market.
  • Professional presentation skills to effectively deal with dealers and contractors.
  • Ability to work with a consultative approach and build consensus for ideas and solutions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must live in territory assigned.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License, good driving record and personal vehicle.
  • Excellent verbal and written, reading, mathematical, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate an automobile, personal computer, printer, smart phone, tablet, projector, copier, facsimile and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Power point, Excel.
  • Must use good judgement always and perform duties in a manner reflecting Basalite’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Predictable, and Regular attendance is required.

  • Wear mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)         

 

$75,000 - $90,000 per year Depending on Qualifications and Experience
