Yard Forman-Operator Lead

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Operates forklift and other equipment to load and unload trucks.
• Supervises all aspects of vehicle loading operations.
• Ensures the proper processing of all loading documents to and from the office.
• Checks all products for quality issues.
• Cleans and organizes yard and warehouses as needed.
• Performs daily forklift inspections.
• Maintains and fuels forklift including checking and maintaining oil and water.
• Trains employees for required yard work and equipment operation (Mentorship Program).
• Informs Logistics manager of low stock levels.
• Help Logistics department conduct accurate cycle counts.
• Conduct employee performance reviews.
• Enforce all Basalite Company policies pertaining to customer service, safety, security and work culture.
• Responsible for all counts of materials being returned to the yard.
• Responsible for checking and receiving incoming loads.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Act as a company selected First Responder for First Aid emergencies.
• Responsible for fiscal inventory counts.
• Regular attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Requires basic math and reading skills.
• On the job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
• Ability to operate a forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties.
• Working knowledge of plant inventory and yard related operation.
• Regular attendance is required.

• Constantly required to Sit and Twist (neck)
• Frequently required to Bend (neck); Twist (waist); Climb; Use hands to finger, Handle or Feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen.
• Occasionally required to Bend (waist); Stand and Walk; Squat; Kneel; Crawl; Lift and/or move items weighing between 51 to 100 pounds with assistance.
